Rehab: Day 2

Well, I went home to do OC Kids Choir (I know, I know! But I just couldn't cancel choir again for 50 kids!) and I accidentally left both my computer charger and phone charger in the garage. Oops! So with 16% left of battery on my phone, I will share with you a quick snapshot of our day.  (And before I begin, don't even start me on the shirt.  "Shalom" yesterday.  "People of the Second Chance" today.  His t-shirts could be a blog of their own!!)

There was a lot of this:

And this:

And even this:
(His balance was one of the areas effected by the tumor - he's getting better and better every day. His goal? Surfing, of course!)

Then he got to do this:
A short walk outside was just what the doctor ordered.
Literally. ;)
After 9 days in the hospital, this was like a breath of fresh air.
;)
LOL! Man, I'm killing myself here! Ba dum bum chhh!

(Can you tell it's been a long day?!) :)

He also got to try this:
A little electroshock therapy to help stimulate those facial nerves and muscles. We'll see if they respond...

And finally, when all was said and done, we ended the night with these 2:

Family game night makes everything right in the world. Or at least everything right in our little world.

Sweet dreams, friends.
Our hearts are full.

  10. You don't know us but we are friends with the Reese family. We have been following your story since day of surgery. You are an inspiration for us in showing your continued faith in God! My 10 year old son just finished up his second surgery to the brain last month. Like you, we had about 48 hours notice of this surgery he would be needing and he had two 7 weeks apart. The good out of this is we are learning to have faith, rely on God, give him our fears and worries and most importantly praise and thank him for all of the blessings along the way. My son has been praying out loud every night when we tuck him in and each night part of his prayer is "And God please give Mr. Ramsay full recovery, heal him and make him feel better". This brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for "living out loud", you are helping so many people! Love- The Shapard Family

    1. Wow - thank you so much for sharing you story and for praying for Jon! We are overwhelmed. I just read this to Jon and he was blown away - he said he doesn't deserve the goodness of a 10 year old praying for him. What an honor. We will be praying for you as well now!

  12. Love that you guys are living out loud so people can witness God's glory! Our visit with Jon and his mother was an amazing and totally unexpected experience. We saw a man who had found Shalom and proving that it is truly independent of circumstances. Can't wait to surf with you buddy! Keep getting people stoked on God!!!

    1. Derek, you articulated that so well - "We saw a man who had found Shalom and proving that it is truly independent of our circumstances." So true. That is what has ministered to me as well....
