Five Praises

Today I'd like to share 5 praises with you:

1) Jon's spirit is amazing. He is so confident in the sovereignty of God and has found incredible peace in that.

2) I was told Jon might not ever be able to use a straw again. Yesterday, the speech therapist had him give it a try and he did it the first time!!!

3) In today's meeting with the physical therapist, Jon stood up!

4) This was new info to me, but apparently when you have trauma to one side of the brain, it effects the opposite side of the body. So although Jon's right side of his face has weakness, the left side of his whole body is extremely weak. (by weak, I mean that he cannot lift his left arm up even 1 inch off the bed.) Yesterday, the occupational therapist was teaching me how to do exercises with him to help build strength. Today, Jon said, "Watch this!" and he lifted his right arm all the way up on his own! It took every ounce of strength and focus he had, but he did it!

5) Jon is ministering to everyone he encounters here. Even to the hospital chaplains and spiritual directors here. Not by deflecting the attention off of him and onto them, but by pointing them to Jesus. (I could write a whole thing on just this. I am absolutely blown away by who Jon is in the core of his being.)

Isn't all of that awesome!?!??
God is good!!!
